2 a.m. danger was not at all noticeable. I suppose a semi truck could have come barreling into me at some point, but i know better. I parked under a streetlight, far far on the right side of the shoulder, up on the berm in fact. I had my hazards on and i sat in my car with the seatbelt on. So it was relatively safe, plus not too much traffic at 2 in the morning, and i was on the outskirts of town going into town so luckily no drunk drivers. But 2 am driving is the best because it means less people. the trick is to be on the road before 2 or around 3.

So the electronic devices are a strange lot. we aim for community and connectivity and the convenience that those devices allow, but in reality they isolate us, and only allow for mediated things to occur. Lost is the potential for a grander state of spontaneity. Everything is rendered more efficiently, forcing people to deal with more time between moments. And if the device that allows for more convenience exists, people gravitate to it and use it to occupy their time. i like all the devices because it helps maintain focus. it allows for all the things i normally notice, daily life's information, disappear as background information. it is almost like it induces transcendence. but i am not naive enough to believe that true transcendence doesn't come from a device.

I think these objects are more like toys for big people. and just like kids we get lost in where we can get lost into.

also, arizona doesn't celebrate the dumbness that is daylight savings.

going against the so called justification for irratating the public, daylight savings time may actually result in more consumption of electricity according to a report.
Yesterday I noticed every person (5) passed on the sidewalk walking into work was talking to a cell phone. All oblivious to the world and life around them. Completely tuned out to everything in life and obsessed and controlled by this electronic device. Very unlikely that their conversations on the other end were worth while. Certainly not by what I was being forced to hear. The intrusion by individuals, companies, agencies etc though all these electronic devices may render them to be the hated and feared.
Sounds as though you could be risking your life driving around at 2 a.m. Why would you be doing that?
